Bishop Suárez is inviting all active and inactive Synod Parish Deacons to participate in this year’s Synod Assembly Opening Worship procession on Thursday, June 8, at 4:00 p.m. All who wish to process will vest in the following: white alb, deacon cross necklace, red cincture (with a knot on each end) and a white hand towel looped over the cincture. Please be in the robing room by 3:30 p.m. You may come to participate in the opening worship service, only, at no cost. If you wish to remain on the assembly floor, you will need to register as a visitor. Questions? - Voting Members - ELCA Rostered Ministers Not Under Call (Retired & On Leave from Call), Youth - $75.00

How do i reserve a room at the host hotel?

Who can be a voting member?
According to our synod constitution:
Constitutionally, voting members are:
If congregations have less than 800 baptized members they can have 2 voting members plus the pastor plus a youth voting member. If congregations have between 800 – 1200 voting members, they can have an additional voting member. If congregations have more than 1200, for each 400 baptized members over the 1200, they can have 1 additional voting member.
So for instance Church ABC Lutheran, a congregation of the Synod with 1600 baptized members can be represented by 2 voting members + pastor + youth + 2 additional

- All ministers of Word and Sacrament under call on the roster of this synod in attendance at the Synod Assembly
- All ministers of Word and Service, under call, on the roster of this synod
- A minimum of one lay member elected by each congregation with fewer than 175 baptized members and a minimum of two lay members elected by each congregation with 175 or more baptized members related to this synod, typically one of whom shall be a man and one of whom shall be a woman.

Can visitors attend?
We encourage people to attend our annual assembly as visitors. During plenary sessions, visitors must sit in the designated space but are otherwise free to participate in worship, forums, and community-building activities. This is a great opportunity for interns or those who want to learn more about our synod.

How will we vote?
Voting will be done electronically. Please bring an internet accessible device (smart phone, tablet, or laptop) so that you can vote.
are there food options at the host hotel?
Food options are available but limited at the Caribe Royale. Please feel free to bring food and drinks as every sleeping room contains a small fridge, microwave oven, and coffee maker.
are there parking fees?
There is a $28 daily parking fee for those commuting to the assembly. The parking fee is waived for those staying at the Caribe.
